¡Hola!

Next day in Rio. Not so much action. We tried having some breakfast without diabetes written on it, soaked up some sun in our roof top, went out for lunch in a small cute place with acai-bowls on the menu and then headed to the airport.

We caught the only two front row seats

Our hotel made the arrangement for a cab that wasn't the same air con freezing to death temperatured yellow regular cab. This seemed more like someone they knew that also arranged favela tours and such. He was quite the chatty type and his Spanish was okay but with a lot of Portuguese slipping through. I need to dust off my Spanish a whole lot more to be able to keep up. He was very determined to help me with my sim-card problem and to be fair he helped me figure it out. As I told you before, the personalised number problem. It seems like foreigners can get one too but it was too complicated to get done for a short period of time. Of course it's nice to be offline for a while but we miss Google maps. We have them downloaded but you miss key features offline.

Anyhows after the cab ride with the nice driver that also pointed out points of interests during the ride (and of course gave us his What's app number for when returning to Rio) we arrived well in time to the right airport. There are two airports and it was a bit confusing at the beginning of the ride if we were going to the right one.

I don't wanna jinx anything here but so far everything been so easy and convenient. Going through customs was quick, check-in is simple, fast, no lines etc. Not what I expected from earlier South American trips. But we still have Chile left so no shouting hey before jumping over the river.

Right now I'm writing on the plane to Iguazu. Quite thrilled to see the falls tomorrow. Rio wasn't what we expected and even though there's beauty with the surround mountains and greenery we didn't feel like we found the gems there. There was no genuine city feeling. No plaza or restaurant street. Of course staying in Ipanema is not staying in the city centre but still... Maybe we didn't go to the right places though. And we were jet lagged most of our time there. It'll probably be better when we return in January.

And dad, I will schedule the updates and not write everyday. So don't worry if there's radio silence here for a while. Plane rides when not sleeping is the best time to write so I'll try to sum everything
 up when I'm flying okay?

Hablamos luego,
